Wright to chair Florida Conservation Commission

Winter Park lawyer Kenneth Wright is the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission's new chairman.

The seven-member commission elected Wright at is meeting Thursday in Palm Beach Gardens.

Wright, currently vice chairman, will swap positions on Sunday with Jacksonville construction company executive Kathy Barco, who's chaired the panel for the past year.

The commission also elected Barco as vice chairwoman for the next year.

Wright and Barco both have served on the commission since August 2007. They were appointed by then-Gov. Charlie Crist.
